Ghost in the Shell proved to be quite an inspiration when I was about to take this image. My GF and I were looking for food around Admiralty. Apparently, crossing a footbridge paved my way to capture this image of Hong Kong during rush hour. The moment I saw this photo I immediately knew that this should be something to remind me of Hong Kong: Asian, modern, and eccentric.

24-05-2020 - Riot police fired tear gas and water cannon at thousands of demonstrators, who were chanting slogans and waving banners against China's plans to impose a new security law on the territory, which some describe it as a "flagrant breach" of the Sino-British Joint Declaration, under which Hong Kong returned to Chinese rule in 1997.

Hongkong skyline view from Victoria Peak

Living in the shadow of this iconic Hong Kong vista, it’s sad it took me as long as it did to get this shot. That said, my cab broke down ascending the hill, I dropped (and cracked) my phone climbing out of it, and I had to run the last mile. But I got the shot. Was it worth it? I dunno.

Hong Kong is well known for its skyline and the Peak Observatory is by far the most popular location/ tourist spot to see it. Unlike most tourists that go directly to the Peak Observatory, I went to a hiking trail nearby called “Lugard Road. From there, I was able to capture the lights of the tall skyscrapers while avoiding the crowded areas. This photo is a representation of how advanced the human race is and how man is able to create magnificent wonders around the world just like these tall skyscrapers in Hong Kong.

So this area in nearby Yau Ma Tei in Hong Kong, there’s many street shops sign still around. It has the feels of the old style Hong Kong, so I was wandering the area and there are many old residential buildings which look kinda worn out. Why not I take the picture there? It was sunny and there’s an old man on a bike strolling around the streets. So I took the picture. The picture outcome is that it gives this old vibes in Hong Kong.
